An Overview of Lava Water Filters

Like slow sand filters, lava filters can only be utilized with sufficient land and space. They also depend on biological treatments to filter water. The lava filters have two layers of lava pebbles and soil that is free of nutrients.

The soil is on the top layer. There are plants that help to clean water that are also placed on top.
